The project of Mafalda Santos is named “Alvará” (Licence) and is based on a composition of a wall made from used paper, coming from different sources, piled next to the glass and covering, this way, the whole “A Montra” (shopwindow).

 

The intervention plays around themes like accumulation, obsolescence and desertion of many other places just like this closed shop, that has its history told by layers of documents and dead bureaucracy.

 

Just like the longitudinal cutting for analyzing the different rock stratums, it tries to catch the observer of this work for the ability to read the story of a place through the traces and remains accumulated through time.
