shop window paper
The one who is looking at the Shop Window (Montra) is limited, in terms of observation, by the glass which does organize the space and converts it to bidimensionality. Based on a family of objects, which he has been developing, the pedestals, Vasco Futscher here shows a basis conceived for this setting. At a first glance, it seems to be just that, a strict drawing pedestal, in black and red sandstone. By observing it better, it looks gifted of a strange perspective, like it was twisted. By making use of Baroque architects’ popular rules, it cheats the eye, which tries in vain to straighten the piece.
