Graduated in Painting at Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2004. Afterwards she attended Advanced Photography at Ar.Co and Photography at Gulbenkian Program of Creativity and Artistic Creation.  Has exhibited regularly since 2005 and has won the prize BES Revelação in 2007. Botelho was also selected for Plat(T)form 10 at the Winterthur Museum and nominated for the awards EDP Novos Artistas in 2011 and the European Photo Exhibition Award in 2012. In the same year she Exhibited at Elba Benitez Gallery (Photoespana) and in 2013 was a resident artist at FAAP São Paulo.
